Prison is no picnic. And for a good reason -- a prison sentence is a punishment for a crime against all of us.  But having a felony conviction after release puts those who paid for their crime at a sizable disadvantage in everything from getting an apartment to getting a job. This creates the negative feedback look of recidivism of up to 75%!

Yet in every threat there is an opportunity!

Surviving prison requires a person to develop grit, be able to hustle, do more with less, be resilient to failure and unfairness, deal with difficult people, and face challenges that are out of their control. These are skills that are essential not just for survival in prison -- they are critical attributes of successful entrepreneurs!

ReStartup Academy is not your typical entrepreneurship program. Its mission it to transform prisons into incubators for entrepreneurship.  Students learn how to form a team around a viable solution to a real problem in a scalable way. These courses teach how to efficiently deliver a message to excited customers and outpace the competition. Participants are challenged on a journey to put their knowledge, passion, and teamwork forward to help build their idea from the ground up.
